I hope you’re doing well today! Today is my first day back in the office after being in Philly on a mini vacation the last few days. I had a great time seeing old friends and just having some fun in a city that I love! I don’t know if we ever REALLY appreciate something in the moment that we have or experience  it. Sometimes it takes time and space for us to realize how lucky we’ve been to have lived particular times of our lives. There I go getting all nostalgic… Well while my brain is still chillaxing in the warm weather eating Rita’s Italian Ice and Tastykakes my body has been transported back to reality. Since it’s my first day back in the office I thought I’d share a more professional look to get me back into the mood. Is is working you ask? Ummmm, I’ll plead the 5th for the moment.

I wore this to work on a warm San Francisco day. There are so many days you need to wear tights with skirts so when it’s warm out I take advantage of it! I was initially unsure about this skirt with horizontal white stripes but I’ve grown to love it. It’s really soft and comfortable but also a little body con like so for work I wanted to tone down the sexiness a bit. That’s why I paired it with this white button down but added the belt so it wouldn’t be completely shapeless. These wedge shoes are great for long days at the office giving just enough height and the nude color elongates my legs. A big necklace is great for button downs to add some femininity and this color draws the eye upward. What do you think of this bag? I love the structure of it and the pop of color gives this basic color palette a little punch. Pile on a few more baubles and you’re good to go!

What are your thoughts on this look? Would you wear this horizontal white stripe skirt to work or how would you have paired it differently? Do you like this professional look or loathe it… and be honest 😉 My taste in music and fashion (along with most other things) have a wide range and I usually follow my mood wherever it leads me. Wearing something that makes me feel good that first day back to work always perks me up. Is that important for you? Well on this occasion you’ll find me cruising to work in my White Stripes skirt and listening to them too!

XOXO

Nic

Love it, this is such a classic look and great for work. You’ve also reminded me I don’t own a white button down shirt and that I probably should!
