The Setting

When Mr. T and I headed up to Napa for my birthday it was a little chilly. Of course I expected that from San Francisco, but it was actually rather cool in Napa that day. As I mentioned in my post here we decided to stay in downtown Napa this time and we didn’t really have a set itinerary Our M.O is more “outline”, less “checklist”. Meaning we may have a few absolutes on out list, but the rest we just leave up to chance and opportunity. What’s your travel M.O?

It was later in the day when we arrived. After checking in at the hotel we explored the downtown area since we hadn’t stayed there before. Sunset is one of my favorite moments of the day! The world seems quieter during that time. Settled More content. Have you ever noticed that? Plus I love how the fading light melds into everything, giving it a warm golden glow. It’s magical!

Eventually we found our way to dinner, but only after a little libation. Originally, the plan was to change before dinner, but we’d spent too much time on our walkabout and getting cozy with our cocktails. At that point we were just hungry and needed to find a good meal before they stopped serving. I’d worn this outfit on the drive up and while traipsing around the city. Luckily Napa, like much of California, is rather casual so my cargo pants became my dinner date, in addition to Mr. T of course!

This sweater was a random purchase I’ve found myself wearing more than I ever expected. It provided just the right amount of coverage for a chilly evening out. I like the blend of the yellow sweater and army green pants together. What do you think? Was this summery enough? The necklace I wore is vintage and raided from my mom. It’s one of those cool pieces you could expect to find at an antique store like the one I visited here. What can I say? The whole day was an unexpected gift; The perfect setting for a wonderful weekend!
