It’s been a few days since my last post but the San Francisco weather hasn’t been very cooperative. It’s been hella (to use a Bay area description) cold and foggy which means nothing but 80′s big hair band impressions by my coiffure. Yesterday I found myself wearing a tweed jacket… yes, tweed. So while the rest of the U.S is looking forward to Fall, San Francisco is looking forward to “Summer” haha. September and October are the warmest months of the year in the city and people around here start playing hookie in droves. The real summer months are just for getting out of town.
That’s exactly what I was doing when I got the opportunity to wear this little number. Philadelphia was so nice and warm and a Saturday with old friends just felt like an occasion to “romp” around. I love rompers but fit is sometimes an issue. Depending on the torso length it can end up making you look a bit like a carny. Plus I just recently started embracing shorter shorts in general and that length includes rompers. I’ve always liked them… just not on me. If I had to check a box on my relationship with shorts it would read “it’s complicated” haha. I actually need to get the straps on this taken up but I wanted to wear it so badly I just wore a cami underneath. I really liked the pattern on this and for a cost of $12.99 at Marshall’s I couldn’t pass it up. Since I was traveling I was limited with bags and shoes but I wore these neutral wedges because it never hurts to look a little taller (even if only in my head). Some of you have probably seen me with this bag before and it’s a favorite. Since romper was dark I think it added the perfect bright pop of summer color. Don’t you just love this Ann Taylor cuff? It’s currently on sale and I think it’s so beautiful and really well made. I thought it was the perfect statement piece to add. Otherwise I piled on some gold bangles, a favorite Gorjana necklace and other various baubles to complete this playful look.
I’d like to find a romper I can wear with tights when it’s colder outside. I found one at H&M a little while ago but wasn’t able to find my size so the hunt continues. What do you think about rompers? Do you like the trend? What about their cousin, the jumpsuit? While I love the look of a jumpsuit I have yet to find one that actually fits me well. Let me know if you’ve had any luck with jumpsuits and where you found it. This Fall I plan on getting some more use out of this baby but the warm weather here is still a month away. Until then it’s a busy week and weekend ahead with my birthday on Thursday and Outside Lands music festival Friday – Sunday along with a few other things. I may not get to wear a romper but fingers crossed the weather cooperates so I won’t end up looking looking like a Poison member in a puffer jacket… kinda like this 😉
Are any of you heading to NYC for IFBCON or LuckFABB in September? If so let me know because I’d love to meet up!
PS – I’d also like to say a BIG thank you to Kanae over at Pearls and Peacocks for choosing my post as part of her last bloggers got style too! If you have a chance please take a peek at the other bloggers as well. Thanks Kanae, I’m very flattered!!!
