Romper Room

Hi Kiddies!

It’s been a few days since my last post  but the San Francisco weather hasn’t been very cooperative. It’s been hella (to use a Bay area description) cold and foggy which means nothing but 80′s big hair band impressions by my coiffure. Yesterday I found myself wearing a tweed jacket… yes, tweed. So while the rest of the U.S is looking forward to Fall, San Francisco is looking forward to “Summer” haha. September and October are the warmest months of the year in the city and people around here start playing hookie in droves. The real summer months are just for getting out of town.

That’s exactly what I was doing when I got the opportunity to wear this little number. Philadelphia was so nice and warm and a Saturday with old friends just felt like an occasion to “romp” around. I love rompers but fit is sometimes an issue. Depending on the torso length it can end up making you look a bit like a carny. Plus I just recently started embracing shorter shorts in general and that length includes rompers. I’ve always liked them… just not on me. If I had to check a box on my relationship with shorts it would read “it’s complicated” haha. I actually need to get the straps on this taken up but I wanted to wear it so badly I just wore a cami underneath. I really liked the pattern on this and for a cost of $12.99 at Marshall’s I couldn’t pass it up. Since I was traveling I was limited with bags and shoes but I wore these neutral wedges because it never hurts to look a little taller (even if only in my head). Some of you have probably seen me with this bag before and it’s a favorite. Since romper was dark  I think it added the perfect bright pop of summer color. Don’t you just love this Ann Taylor cuff? It’s currently on sale and I think it’s so beautiful and really well made. I thought it was the perfect statement piece to add. Otherwise I piled on some gold bangles, a favorite Gorjana necklace and other various baubles to complete this playful look.

I’d like to find a romper I can wear with tights when it’s colder outside. I found one at H&M a little while ago but wasn’t able to find my size so the hunt continues. What do you think about rompers? Do you like the trend? What about their cousin, the jumpsuit? While I love the look of a jumpsuit I have yet to find one that actually fits me well. Let me know if you’ve had any luck with jumpsuits and where you found it. This Fall I plan on getting some more use out of this baby but the warm weather here is still a month away. Until then it’s a busy week and weekend ahead with my birthday on Thursday and Outside Lands music festival Friday – Sunday along with a few other things. I may not get to wear a romper but fingers crossed the weather cooperates so I won’t end up looking looking like a Poison member in a puffer jacket… kinda like this 😉

Are any of you heading to NYC for IFBCON or LuckFABB in September? If so let me know because I’d love to meet up!

Cute romper! Love how you added pop of colors with your green bracelet and bag! And congratulations for being featured in P&P!

You look so fabulous in that romper! I’ve avoided them because I dislike the whole “have to get naked to go to the bathroom” thing. That and I’ve just never found one that fits my body well. LOVE all of your accessories!!

      • Tweed? Really? Are you kidding me? I will say this, however, my cousin… the “epitome of California cool” one lived in SanFran, and married the Sausilito Fire Chief (can’t remember if I already told you that), but despite the chilly but (usually) perfect weather, that is one great area in which you are living! I love the gold ring with the malachite looking stones in it. I am not sure why this post will be appearing under Jenny’s comment, but I did mean to her comment by saying “HAHA! That is dead on and funny about the getting naked while going to the bathroom” comment. I DO love a jumpsuit however!! You both are stylin’ profilin’ this week! xo

I love this romper! It is so cute, and it looks great on you! I actually like how the straps are longer and how it’s loose on top. It looks great with the cami underneath. This would also look super cute with different color bandeau tops too! Great find. And those shoes are fabulous!

    4. Nic!! You are so pretty when you’re smiling and laughing (not that you aren’t when you’re not because you are) but I love this look. I desperately need a romper in my life but I wish they will make some where it detached in the crotch area (lol), cause using the restroom in public usually require getting completely naked is pretty scary LOL. Anyway, I’ll be going to the Gap event tomorrow, are you?

Yes, the SF weather has been odd. I just wish that it wouldn’t be freezing one day and then bright and sunny the next. And the morning fog makes it completely unpredictable for planning your outfit.

I love the romper, and that bag is super cool! I love the wooden handles with the yellow leather, and the shape is uber-chic

I’m now following you on bloglovin, yay!

    8. This romper is so cute (what a great price!) and perfect paired with the nude shoes and pop of color bag! Thanks for linking up for Real Girl Style!

    9. You look so adorable in this romper! I love the playful pattern and the nude shoes with it (definitely makes your legs look long), and all the fun bangles/jewelry! 🙂

    10. LOVE the romper. I got inspired by you so I’m now going to IFB the first day and Lucky Fabb the second day. Let’s definitely meet up there!
