Ready To Rock

Phew! It’s been a busy few days here. I’ve had my wonderful cousin Malsert here for a visit, San Francisco was playing in the Super Bowl (shutdown for crazy town) and it was also Mr.T’s birthday! Outfit post on what I wore for that later but today here’s a little something else. I’ve previously discussed playing roles in my own fashion world. Do you like to do that as well? Not to say one must change their personality but style allows us to express whatever side of ourselves we’re exploring.

Bon Jovi was not on my top ten list and I never considered myself a “rocker chick”. I’m a music lover, yes, but never specifically a rocker one. Nevertheless, I do enjoy some good “big hair band” tunes from time to time and with that in mind put this look together. The foundation probably started with the jeans. In a very light, almost white wash their an easy cousin to the acid wash days. As a matter of fact I’m on the hunt for a wallet friendly pair of acid wash jeans. Are you wearing them too?IMG 1454 960x941 Ready To RockIMG 1617 666x1000 Ready To RockIMG 1496 960x640 Ready To Rock

When I saw this sweater a while back I knew we HAD to be together! Every Leo lady should have a top with a big cat on it. It’s like a law or something. Just sayin. Next came these gorgeous Ivy booties courtesy of DMSX. The color just makes you feel warm and they’re incredibly soft. DMSX is another branch of Donald J Pliner so they’re been around awhile and know what they’re doing in the shoe department. Wearing this gold chain necklace gives this look a tougher vibe along with animal print bag. Neither are big in size but they pack a lot of punch and show that you don’t have to make a big change to have a big impact.

I don’t have many memories of colored blazers in the 80’s but it’s part of what modernizes this combination.  Along with more delicate jewelry, retro shades and my ponytail I’m feeling ready to rock. All these pieces I’ve worn in very different ways and offer tons of versatility. If you haven’t yet get the most out of your wardrobe by trying something new together! Do you consider yourself a rocker chick? How would you modernize a 80’s rock look? It was a little windy when we took these photo’s so my bangs had a mind of their own. I KNEW I should have used more hairspray 😉

I love playing around with different versions of me in all types of outfits too! I recently dug up my 80’s acid wash jeans and did a similar 80’s post- actually titled 80’s lady. 😉 Love that cat sweater, and those sweet boots- lucky girl!
