Project Paisley

Jeezo it’s been a crazy few days! My voice is hoarse and my brain is fried but I’m PRETTY sure that means I had a great time! During the last 10-ish days there’s been some quality time in Canada, a San Francisco visit from a Philly friend and now I’m heading back from my Lucky Fabb adventures and bite in The Big Apple. Of course I have a lot more to share on all those fronts but before we get to that I want to discuss something a little different. And by that I mean paisley.

Paisley prints. I’m generally not a fan. That being said, like with most things, I take them on a case by case basis, and in THIS case, I made an exception. Actually this may be the ONLY paisley thing I own. Oops (exception #2)! I can’t explain why I have an aversion the print, but it’s there; most of the time it strikes me as too frilly and other times as too matronly. However, the stripes in this top help break up the print so it’s not as severe. Where are you on the paisley scale? Love, hate or somewhere in between?

I wore this recently for brunch with some gal friends during SF’s “real” summer. For most of you this season is called fall, but it’s the only time of year the city decides to show a little warmth. I don’t care what season it’s called as long as it shows up! You can certainly wear this top with a skirt or trousers but it’s on the colder side in many offices and I find this top is shown best without restraint; otherwise known as “sans sweater”.

Distressed boyfriend jeans keep this look casual along with black leather accessories. The shoes and bag continue toning down the sweetness of the print and give off a boho vibe that’s rather chill. I added a few necklaces and bracelets, but I ended up really liking this look. What items in your closet you make an exception for? If paisley IS your thing let me know what you LOVE about it! I’m not promising you’ll make me a convert but, we’ll see…

XOXO
