Piperlime – Ladylike Studs
One of the things I love about personal style is that there really aren’t any rules. After all, it’s personal, right?! Wanna mix trends? Fashion decades? Go ahead! With that in mind, my mood governs my daily style choices. So after pairing these Arieli Shutz shoes from Piperlime with sexy sequins in my last post, I switched it up for something a little more ladylike. A mid length skirt with polka dots was the perfect place to start.
I’ve had this skirt for some time and its one of my favorites. Midi skirts are making their way back onto the popular list and you’ll see more of them this Fall. While they’re becoming trendy the length is really a classic, feminine shape. Green also happens to be a cool kid color for fall but I didn’t have that in mind when I bought it. My advice? Buy what you like… no matter the trend.
This is a great outfit for exploring the city, meeting friends for a meal or doing a little shopping. Longer skirts and structured bags skew to the feminine side, but pair it with tougher items like this necklace, moto jacket and a graphic tee to bring back some balance. Plus if gets a little cool throwing on a jacket will keep you warm and a midi skirt will give more coverage. And the best part? The Arieli sandal from Piperlime will give you the perfect juxtaposition between ladylike sensibility and tough girl edge.
Keeping this look personal I decided on cat eye glasses for a whimsical addition. They’re a vintage element and that something unexpected I find appealing in ANY look. What style element or twist do you add to make a look your own? Is there a fall trend or stylish piece you want to work into your wardrobe? My list seems 1,000 miles long but you can bet these Ladylike Studs will be in heavy rotation.
