Piperlime – Black Tie Best

I’ve done it again. Stolen Borrowed Mr. T’s tie, that is. I couldn’t help myself and let’s be realistic; It’ll probably happen again. At least the last time I wore a tie here I could claim it as my own. Sort of (I bought it for him and then kept it for myself). Does it really matter though? I mean relationships are about sharing, right? Well, that sounds like a good defense so I’ll begin with that point if becomes necessary. Have you borrowed from the boys before too?

When Piperlime asked me to style fall inspired looks with shoes from their Pre Fall – Best in shoe event I was pretty “pumped” (pun originally not intended but…).  My last two posts here, and here were styled with the Oyster colored lace up Arieli from Schutz (one more look with those to come). However, these Elle pumps by Jean-Michel Cazabat had me feeling like a modern day Cinderella. Well, a more urban one… in jeans… wearing a tie. But still!!! Mr. T has fallen for them and so should you (25% details at the bottom of the page)!

Even if you don’t wear heels it’s hard to deny these are some sexy shoes. The shape and cut is quite beautiful and you probably won’t believe me, but these are the most comfortable 4.5 inch heels I’ve ever worn. I don’t usually wear heels quite this high because they hurt my (collapsible) arches. Yes, I have rather stylishly challenged footsies. So I was THRILLED when I realized these were more comfortable than anticipated. I knew the Elle could be worn for a Black Tie event (hello sparkle!) but why not with an actual black tie? That’s when this outfit was born.

The Fall reminds me of being back in school so a button down shirt and wool blazer had me feeling rather collegiate (You can’t see in these photos but this one has the cutest elbow patches). These jeans happen to be my favorites at the moment. I like the torn areas making them seem perfectly undone.  Do you like destroyed denim? Preppy style 101 seemed complete but I couldn’t leave it there. This look needed a little pizazz to balance out these dazzling pumps. A bright bag, glitter belt and mirrored retro shades gave it just enough quirkiness to make me stand out in the crowd. And why do I want to stand out in a crowd? Because who wants to blend in when they’re all dolled up in their Black Tie Best?!

    1. […] girl” but with a sexy edge.  Last time I went for a preppy chic look which you can see here. With Elle providing all the sex appeal I could concentrate on the “cool girl” part. […]

    2. […] you all the fancy you want and more! The hardware is so eye catching and as I mentioned in my post here, at 4.5 inches they’re surprisingly some of the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn. […]
