Have you ever noticed that sometimes it’s the simplest things that are most striking? In no way am I claiming I don’t like intricacy or elaborate design (that would be a bold faced lie), but because our eyes are constantly taking in so many images it’s nice to give them a break. A strong single color or basic pattern can be a nice change. That applies to clothes, accessories, jewelry or really anything!
I was asked to review rings made of Tungsten from a company called Modern Design. And if you’ve ever read Manners and Moxie you’ll know I have “a thing” for jewelry. Modern Design is an independent jewelry company based in Los Angeles. Since 1978 they’ve been manufacturing and wholesaling jewelry and are also members of The Jewelers Board of Trade. The rings are clean and sleek in nature but come a variety designs so you can find one that truly fits your personality. If you’re in the market for a wedding band Modern Design is a great place to start but that’s not the only option. I chose a wide band in a brushed black matte, so you see that these rings aren’t just used as wedding bands. What Tungsten ring would you choose?
When deciding what to wear for this look modern retro elements came to mind. Black & white, checkerboard and hounds tooth patterns are having a moment right now. Have you been rocking them too? This mini is modern but it also gives off a 60’s vibe. I chose to pair this skirt with bold color to keep the outfit strong and statement making. I picked up these Sam Edelman booties in burgundy from Piperlime and can’t get enough of them! They’re incredibly comfortable and I’m sure you’ll agree I need them in every color, right?! I thought so…
How would you style this Tungsten ring? Would you choose something in black like I did or go more traditional with a silver band? What’s your favorite way to make a bold simple statement? Let me know!
