How Do You Denim?
The Canadian Tuxedo. Once a style to incite laughter and perhaps a bit of behind the back snickering has become a stylish staple for many of us. I’m a big fan of denim on denim especially since there are so many ways to personalize your look based on the item, wash, cut, fit, etc…
I donned this double denim look during some down time in Charleston on vacation. These light wash relaxed Emerson jeans are a favorite of mine and they screamed out to be paired with this Bella Dahl tank that I got from Stitch Fix. The acid wash treatment is right up my alley, though I did alter it by adding an extra button to the top so I could button it all the way up as you see here; I love the menswear vibe it offers!
Silver shoes keep things modern and monochrmatic, but my hair and lip color pop so there’s no chance I’ll get lost in the crowd. As a matter of fact, while touring around town I had a few shopkeepers ask where I was from becasue my outfit was “too cool” to be local. Of course, I replied that I live in San Francsico, but I’m a homegrown SC girl – denim on denim can’t be corralled, but its roots run deep 😉
