Just a quick post today because I’m heading to the the theater in a few hours. Fun right?! More on that to come but for now, let’s talk brunch! Brunch is my favorite meal of the day; especially when I get to enjoy it with a gaggle of gals that I adore (try saying that 5 times fast)! Once a month my blogger friend Nichole, of Vanilla Extract puts together Blog Brunch SF where bloggers, both old & new, can get together and dish! It’s a great chance to talk industry deets and get to know each other on a more personal level.
It’s also an event where you can wear almost anything (not actual pj’s, though I’ve seen it done) depending on venue. For this occasion I kept to basics; jeans and one of my favorite tees. I was doing some other running around that day and wanted to feel cute but comfortable. Of course I could have keep to just those pieces but I wanted to step it up ever so slightly with a few additions.
Did you see the last post when I wore this jacket? I paired casual pieces with it then too. A simple but bold statement jacket like this really brings everything up a notch; making you look a little more polished but requiring very little effort. Do you already have something in your closet like that? If not, add it to your must have list. I also wore these great kitten heel metallic sandals. Metallic’s always bring some fancy to the mix and this heel height will keep your feet from screaming at you later in the day.
Is brunch on your menu for the weekend? If you’re going someplace a little dressier you could still keep things simple by swapping out the jeans & tee for a LBD or keep on the casual side with a pair of shorts. Layering on some jewelry will also elevate your brunch game and won’t take too much time. Just pile on some mixed metals to give a “I tried, but not too hard” look. Hopefully this will make your weekend plans a little easier so you can concentrate on the important questions; omelette or french toast?
