Global Glam

Tunics. They don’t get much love, or at least as much as they deserve. Maybe it’s the name? Sounds a little blah, right? The best kind, like this one, are the…  Hold up!!!! You’re all like, “what are you talking about? You’re not even wearing a tunic?” Ahhh, but see that’s where you’re wrong! This IS a tunic, albeit a sneaky and stylish one. Now as I was saying, the best designs can be worn multiple ways, where you don’t know it’s a tunic. I wear this one as a dress, blouse (it’s also awesome over pants for that whole dress over pants thing), or brace yourself… as a tunic.

The print and color of this one, designed exclusively for Stitch Fix, had me at hello. I lurvvv a fun print! And this color combo can be worn with just about anything so I choose a retro inspiration for this global glam look. In case you were wondering, wide leg pants are definitely back on the trend train (Yah! Hello style icon Katherine Hepburn!). I took this look for a modern 1940’s style spin with these high waist belted beauties and my bracelet, which actually IS 1940’s vintage. For the shoe, I enjoy a pop of color, but if red isn’t your thing another color or neutral could work too. The open toe keeps it a bit more modern along with this amazing collared necklace from Jane Basch, which adds the perfect edge. She made my Moxie necklace that I wear almost daily along with another of my favorite monogrammed pieces that you can see here.

To round things out, I took a defuser to my hair for a little extra umph. Some extra curl seemed appropriate for this global glam girl. Now… where did I park my jet? It’s time to take this tunic to the beach čśë
