Flower Power

Hi Kiddies!

Welcome to Monday madness! It’s a short week for most people here in the U.S due to Independence Day this Wednesday. Unfortunately it’s just a regular week for me but luckily my normal days off are Thursday through Saturday so hopefully I’ll get to participate in some spectacular firework action somewhere. Yesterday I wore an unplanned red, white and blue number but I didn’t get a chance to snap pics due to the LOVEly fog/rain/crap that San Francisco summer’s bring. I recently adopted a little side swoop bang action until I can decide if I want to go full frontal with them. However, all this moisture is making my naturally curly/wavy hair look like some shaggy pup.

I may try to work in some July 4th inspired looks this week but today I’m sharing some flower power instead. I know many of you have probably seen this top all over the place but it’s new(ish) to me. It was one of J.Crew’s Collection pieces and coveted by many ladies this spring for a matchy matchy look with the pants. I didn’t grab the pants but I was shocked when I saw this lone top in the J.Crew sale section exactly in my size! How excited was I realizing it was on sale with the additional 30% off! As the sales associate and I were cooing over the top she told me the price was even lower than marked on the tag. It was originally a $350 piece and when I found it on sale it was $79 with an additional 30% off. As I was paying she told me it rang up at $49 with the additional 30% off!!!! If that’s not a reason to shoot off some of your own fireworks and have a parade then I don’t know what is!

Since this top does have a sweetness to it with the pattern and peplum I wanted to add a little toughness. I paired it with a skinnier style jean and my heavy gold chain necklace. I thought the yellow pumps added a nice contrasting pop of color and then the leopard print bag seemed an obvious choice, n’est pas? I told ya’ll I have a thing for graffiti right? I thought this backdrop was the perfect place to take pictures of a look that has so much punch to it. What do you think of this pairing? How would you wear this top, or would you wear it at all? Is it roman candle worthy or only sparkler grade? Either way this look made me feel like a firework hehe

PS – As you see I’m also toying around with my layout. I know I need to increase the font & size but I’m having a little trouble with that. How do you feel about the way I dispersed the narrative between the pictures. Love it, hate it or neutral? I appreciate any feedback you may want to give me!
