So that whole “Don’t wear white after Labor Day” rule? Yeah. Not listening. When I was growing up that was definitely “a thing” in the South. I prefer to live by the “rules were meant to be broken” cliche, at least when it comes to style. Many of you must feel the same because I see white denim worn all year round now. Are you a part of this stylish bandwagon too?
I love the idea of wearing white denim in fall/winter with plaid shirts, sweaters, leather jackets and boots or booties to give it a cozy feel; though lately SF has been enjoying its Indian summer so I went for a lighter look in this outfit.
So my question is this… Why does blue denim on denim, aka the Canadian Tuxedo get to have all the fun? Instead I swapped out the typical blue jeans in a Canadian Tuxedo combo for these white jeans (If you want the regular version take a look here). I then accessorized with items you may see with a normal tuxedo i.e. the tie and menswear style shoes. Though generally a different color, these two tone oxfords and animal print belt give this look a little warmth.
Vintage earrings add something special that all tuxedos have but a half tucked shirt and casual bag kept the overall look relaxed. Of course I couldn’t forget my red sunglasses, but I’ll let them speak for themselves because they can…
My friend Brent was visiting from Philly the day I wore this outfit. We enjoyed brunch at the delicious Park Tavern and did some sightseeing around the city. Stay tuned for another post where I’ll share Brent’s look of the day. I turned him into my model as I took his photo around the city. Don’t tell him I said this but I think he liked it (wink wink)! In the meantime feel free to wear this “tuxedo” any day of the week; no party required.
