I may be on a mission to add as many culottes to my closet as possible. Is that a crime? In some states, maybe, but in my world it’s encouraged. Culottes will be sticking around the fashion scene so you might as well jump onboard. Not because they’re trendy; no, no. When it comes to culottes the reason is simple. They’re just cool.
Did you see this post where I touted their amazingness? Longer, fuller hemlines make this a great option for a day to night look. It’s not often many people can wear “shorts” to work, but these resemble a skirt. Most people won’t realize that’s NOT what you’re wearing, unless you point it out. This way you get the illusion of being all “fancy” while giggling to yourself about your sneaky stylish ways.
Wear this look on your days off too! I wore this while brunching with friends as I proceeded to rack up old lady points. Otherwise known as my birthday. A black and white combo is so classic I decided to carry that into my accessories with this bag. But pairing these culottes with a faux leather top gives the look a modern element it needs. In general I wanted to minimize additional colors, but I made an exception for metallic shoes since they give a touch of glam. Finally, black and white sunnies would have been a great addition, but unfortunately, I don’t have any. Instead I opted for this barely blush retro style.
Have I convinced you of the coolness of culottes? Are you wearing them too? If not, prepare yourself. I already have my eye on this printed pair for fall. There will surely be more coolness to come 😉
