Color Me Awake
I hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday! I’ve got a busy day ahead and all I want to do is crawl back in bed. My body is telling me it could use a serious nap but no such luck. I’ll probably have to hook up to a caffeine drip of some sort later. Do you have a favorite coffee place where you live? I was a Starbucks girl before moving to San Francisco but living here has made me a baby coffee snob. I still like my “bucks” on occasion but there are SOOOOOO many great local coffee places in the city. I could name a few but I do have a slight affinity for La Boulange. The coffee is quite good but it may actually be the food that draws me in since it’s a French style bakery. If you’re familiar with this city Blue Bottle, Philz, Fourbarrel, Sightglass and Ritual coffee roasters are all on the must try list. Luckily none of these places is around the corner from me or I’d be buzzing like a bee ALL the time.
As it’s my last day at work this week before I head to Philly Wednesday night (or Thursday morning – not sure yet) and I thought I’d share an outfit I think is great for the office. I wore this to work a couple weeks ago and I love the color punches it provides! Mr. T took these pictures right before I hopped in the car for work and as you can probably tell it was really windy. I think that was the day I realized much I need to take a weed whacker to my hair. I have an appointment tomorrow and I think I’ve decided to go full frontal with my bangs. I haven’t done it in a LONG time but I’m feeling like a little change would do me good. Am I crazy? What do you think?
Back to the outfit… You may have caught my post where I wore red denim but if not you can take a peek here. While I did wear that to work it was an off site meeting and normally I can’t wear jeans to work. So this is my solution for some red pants at work or capris in this case. I started with those and then added this printed top. While it doesn’t have any red in it I think all the colors play off each other well. I wanted a neutral for the sweater, bag and shoes but I didn’t want to do all browns so I chose a grey sweater plus the shorter length was better than any others I had. Lastly I paired my minty blue necklace to add some texture and color near my face. To think at one point I thought about not keeping this necklace?! Crazy talk… So what do you think of this combination? Would you wear this or put it right back in the closet? These bright colors help keep me awake on days like today when I’m tired. After all, a girl can only inhale so much coffee before she needs to rent a Port O Potty 😉
