Hi Kiddies!

Today I’m taking you back with me to warmer weather during my trip to Charleston, SC a few  weeks ago. For those of you not familiar with San Francisco and it’s weather patterns… count yourself lucky. Overall SF has SOOOOOO much to offer but the weather leaves much to be desired with its overcast and persnickety ways.  Locals know the weather changes by neighborhood and you should always have some type of sweater or jacket available. While I don’t love the humidity back home in SC (since it generally makes my hair look like a bad 80’s rock band) it was nice to be warm and not have to wear a 24hr snuggie. Mr. T and I had a big night the previous evening with an amazing dinner (more on that in another post…)! We then found ourselves out supporting the local economy and testing out what delicious thirst quenchers it had to offer heh. So on this day we got a later start than planned but eventually got our butts out of bed and hit the streets. This was the day we’d decided to visit Fort Sumter and I needed something fairly comfortable and definitely minimal due to the warmth and ferry ride. We walked a good distance from our hotel to the ferry and these shoes are quite comfortable. They have just enough wedge to give that little extra support and are so versatile they were an obvious choice to take on the trip home in my tiny suitcase! I love a boat ride but most people know the windy and salty  air combined with the heat leaves you smelling like a salty dog lathered in sunscreen. This outfit was a good compromise of polish and comfort. Not to say we can’t do the uber casual look but Southern women generally like to dress up and look pulled together. They also have a penchant for color and patterns which I admittedly have, but living in other locales has also made be appreciate neutrals and the important role they play. In this combination I went for both. The blue top is bright and textural while the shorts are more neutral but have a little pattern. I added the pink neon belt because I can’t get enough of the neon trend and the purse adds a little tough sophistication to the look. Let me know what you think. Does it work? Would you swap out a piece or wear something completely different for the occasion?  The funny pic of the day is the last one where I was “cleaning” my teeth for the camera. I didn’t want to show you a mouth full of pesto chicken after lunch… I think I got it all 😉
