Welcome to Winning Wednesday! I don’t usually get allergies but this morning I sure was allergic to something! Admittedly I was rather exhausted when I woke up this morning but I thought it was just fatigue instead of something irritating my eyes. Unfortunately I could barely keep them open which made getting ready for work quite tricky. You try putting on make up and getting dressed with burning peepers and let me know how it works for you! Needless to say, by the time I got to the car between the San Francisco fog and my feverish eyeballs you would have called my look Rabid Clown Raccoon… not cute.
Luckily I decided last night what to wear (which I’ll show in another post but here is a peek) and I was pretty darn exited because it included my new necklace! I promise to continue my Short Story Part 2 tomorrow but I couldn’t help showing you this newly acquired bauble first. I’ve been searching for a big gold chain for a while but hadn’t found one I liked. Then when I was home and confiscating my mom’s unused jewelry she showed me hers. Perfect right?! Not so… Turns out that was one of the few pieces she couldn’t part with even for me (insert big sad face). Mom told me she’d had it 30ish years and they were still having a romance hehe. She was kind enough to let me borrow it for a night out with friends (picture seen above) but I had to return it before I headed back to San Francisco. Once I returned I redoubled my efforts and found this Michael Kors one I liked at Nemain Marcus Last Call http://www.lastcall.com/. The price was still a little more than I wanted to pay but then the awesome 40% off coupon showed its lovely face! In general they have good sales and offer 30-40% off semi- regularly so you may want to check them out and sign up for emails. Anyhoo, my mother taught me well kiddies and while I’m willing to pay for something this girl loooooves a sale!! This necklace would have normally cost almost $200 but with their reduced price in combination with the coupon I got it for $81… Score!! It’s a very solid piece that’s well made and the gold is a very pretty color. It’s already found a place alongside some of my other favorite necklaces. Would you wear this necklace or a similar piece? Do you think I still paid too much? If I didn’t mention it already jewelry and handbags are near and dear to my heart! They can completely change the look of an outfit and they always fit! This piece may not be for everyone but I see myself getting lots of mileage from my new addition. Hopefully I’ll be able to tell my (eventual) kids to keep their paws off it too… This necklace isn’t going anywhere
