Any day is the perfect occasion to daydream of escape. Escape to where? Well for me that’s anyplace I find intriguing but in this instance I mean a retreat other than my own. As I mentioned in my last post I’m always dreaming about soaking in the scenery of some distant land. That seems especially true in the winter months when it’s cold and the light fades so early. Now I know that the sun sets early in all sorts of places this time of year but somehow I imagine it’d seems less depressing in Paris, Istanbul or wherever your heart may desire.
Since I can’t get away at this very moment I thought a look inspired by travel would be a good alternative. I’ve had this sweater a few years and it’s one of my favorites. I love the color, destination and sense of whimsy it conveys. What can I say; the little airplanes just make me smile. Beyond that focusing on the idea of luxurious air travel I paired this sweater with some other pieces that feel that way. Oxblood (Maroon if you dare hehe) is everywhere this season and I couldn’t pass up this real deal leather skirt when I saw it. It feels like butter and was the other purchase I mentioned in this previous post. Have you fallen for a leather skirt before?
These Vince Camuto booties were an obvious choice. The combination of suede and leather gives a special, sumptuous quality which adds great textural detail. Of course I cant’t plan a getaway with out some fabulous specs! After searching for cat eye glasses for what seemed like eternity I was thrilled when I found these babies. The combination of golden brown hues I find beautiful along with these patterned tights. A metal necklace keeps things modern while giving this relatively feminine look some strength.
This structured bag I love and it happens to be a color I’ll never get enough of. What would you wear traveling to feel glamorous? Would you dress up or is comfort more your vibe? I know people don’t travel in the same style or attire as they once did but this is a modern take on that idea. If I can’t ACTUALLY get away right now then at least I can dress like it and in my dreams I can fly away. Bon voyage!

Those tights and the booties are the perfect combo! I think you need to take a night, go to a French Restaurant and pretend like your dining in Paris!! If you can’t actually getaway, you can “get away” for a few hours!
