In the 80’s
Believe me, I said it too. Acid wash? NO, no way!!! I’ll never go back! Thankfully, I’m not a betting woman or I’d be in trouble. Acid wash is one of the many things I thought I was done with; stylistically, at least. Lo and behold I’ve decided to revisit my past! Depending on your view of the world you may label me as open minded or a turncoat. Either way I’m pretty happy with the end result…
These may be my current favorite jeans for a variety of reasons, but perhaps even more surprising is the shirt I decided to pair with them. I’ve styled these jeans in other, more modern ways, but this time I was feeling some throwback action. Besides, how can you be unhappy wearing My Little Pony?! Seriously!
What keeps this outfit from going full on time warp are the details. If you’ve seen my other posts you know I appreciate a mix of styling influences. The shoes feel a little 90’s, my sunglasses have a 70’s thing working for them and the jewelry is current and modern. The bag is a classic design with updated details and I also kept my hair rather tame, which created less of a bang/Aqua Net effect than the 80’s experienced.
So what has my acid wash journey taught me? Never say never, of course! Once I began listening to my inner personal style voice I found myself gravitating towards many things previously on my “toxic waste list”. You may notice I find channeling my inner creative kid way more fun than being a prim & proper grown up. So if you’re looking for me, I’ll be playing in the 80’s.
